It was the first sweep in 6 years for the Stateliners.
Phillipsburg hasn't swept Easton in boys and girls track and field for six years.
But on Friday at Maloney Stadium, the Stateliners did it again and did so in rather convincing fashion.
Phillipsburg dominated the girls meet 112-28 and the Stateliners posted an 87-53 victory in the boys meet.
"It's been a while. We're separate teams, but we're all Phillipsburg together. To get a double win like this is awesome for both programs," Phillipsburg boys coach Brett Hyland said.
Stateliners sophomore Sydney Hawkins and junior Rachel Herrman shared the MVP honors of the girls meet.
In the boys meet, Phillipsburg senior John Martin won the MVP award.
Hawkins won the 100, 200 and 400-meter races. She also anchored the winning 1,600 relay, which also featured Jessica Manners, Steph Taylor and Ayanna Paige.
Herrman won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in an impressive showing of endurance. It was the first time the junior ever competed in all three events in the same meet.
It was the first win for Phillipsburg girls over Easton in six years.
"I don't really do that many races in meets," Hawkins said about her four first-place finishes. "This is a rivalry so I had to work hard for it to get the win."
"It's really exciting, especially getting first in three events," Herrman said about the win over Easton. "It's pretty special to me because I feel like I really helped to contribute to the team. I'm really thankful for everyone else who that worked super hard to get here also and have us win."
Manners also won the long jump and Taylor also finished first in the 400 hurdles for the girls team.
"I think they did a really good job. They competed very hard. We had some outstanding performances from a lot of girls. A lot of PR's were set. It was probably one of the best performances of the season across the board," Phillipsburg girls coach Rich Kiley said.
Martin won the 200, 400 hurdles and 110 hurdles for the Stateliner boys. He also led off Phillipsburg's winning 1,600 relay team, which also featured Damian Greene, Matt Koeller and Woody Crosby.
"The rivalry goes back so far. It's just something special to be able to come out here and compete against our biggest rivals. To win every single one of my years being at P'burg, it's just a great feeling," said Martin, who will run at the State University of New York at Cortland next season.
Green also finished first in the 400 as did Crosby in the 800 for the Stateliners.
"I felt top to bottom that our kids have performed the best that they had so far this season. And that's what it takes to beat a team like Easton. They're a very talented team. We really did a nice job today," Hyland said.
Easton only won one event on the girls side, but did have six wins in the boys meet.
"We could've done better. We really could've done better," Easton coach Rich Orner said. "We have a full lineup here, but we have a lot of kids on injury. We have a couple kids on injury that aren't running to their full potential right now. We've had a long string of meets in the last month. So they're, I don't want say running on fumes, but we're getting pretty close to it."
For Phillipsburg, the day was a continuation of a strong start to the season.
"We're having one of the best seasons we've had," Kiley said. "The kids are doing a great job. They're working real hard. We've won more dual meets this year than we've had in the past. We're in a very hard conference in the Skyland. They're doing a great job. We've been presented with challenges, we're building on those challenges and they're accepting them and doing a great job. I'm real proud of them."
