The man is being held in Warren County on the Easton charges.
A 37-year-old Phillipsburg man was arrested Friday on charges he used a company credit car to pay for his personal vehicle lease, Easton police say.
Miguel Angel Coronado-Valdez, of the 100 block of Chambers Street, was picked up by town police on a warrant out of District Judge Antonia Grifo's court in Easton. Coronado-Valdez was charged April 21 with theft and unauthorized use of a credit card, court papers say.
Coronado-Valdez made 35 payments with the credit card -- totaling $3,787.40 -- since buying a 2005 Honda Odyssey van on July 7, police said.
Easton-based employer John Durnin told police Coronado-Valdez had access to the credit card to make business-related purchases and wasn't cleared to use it for personal bill paying, court payers say.
Coronado-Valdez will face the Easton charges when and if he is extradited from Warren County jail, where he currently resides, records show.
