Police on Friday blazed across Warren County, carrying on a tradition that benefits the Special Olympics of New Jersey.

The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run had more than 3,000 officers running separate routes around the state. In Warren County, two routes -- one starting in the Phillipsburg area, the other in Hackettstown -- converged in Washington.

The runs around the state culminate with the lighting of the cauldron at The College of New Jersey to open the 2017 Summer Games, which include more than 2,500 athletes.
