The Northampton County Sheriff's Department, working with the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and Phillipsburg police, found the 19-year-old in Warren County.
A 19-year-old Easton man, who is in a wheelchair after a high-speed rollover crash in December in Wilson Borough, was arrested Wednesday morning in Phillipsburg on warrants tied to drug crimes, authorities report.
Bandon Santana was picked up about 6 a.m. on Elm Street near Roseberry Street in town, Northampton County Sheriff David Dalrymple said.
In addition to the sheriff's department's Field Operations Unit, other parts of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, including Pennsylvania parole agents and Pennsylvania State Police, aided in the out-of-state arrest, the sheriff said. Phillipsburg police assisted as well and took Santana into custody, Dalrymple added.
Dalrymple saluted the task force and town police for a "great cooperative investigation."
Santana was quickly extradited back to Pennsylvania. He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora on a charge of conspiracy to deliver heroin and a related count from June 6 and sent to Northampton County Prison lieu of $100,000 bail, records say.
He has a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled 9 a.m. Aug. 30 in the Easton drug case.
Santana, 2 others sought in drug raids
He was also wanted on probation violation after being arrested in February 2016 on charges involving possession with intent to deliver drugs, fleeing and several related counts, records show. He pleaded guilty in May 2016 to the drug and two other offenses and was sentenced to nine to 23 months in prison to be followed by 12 months of probation, records show. Counting time served before his plea, he was released on parole on Nov. 29.
His parole was reviewed on June 9 after he failed to pay any of the $2,913 in fees and fines from the plea and a warrant was issued, records and authorities say.
3 survive high-speed rollover crash
Hakeem Williams, 20, of the 100 block of East Nesquehoning Street, and Kayevon Smith, 19, of the 1400 block of Elm Street, are still sought after the June 6 raid at addresses in the city's West Ward and South Side that also targeted Santana.
