Mosquito treatment is planned in Phillipsburg, Alpha and Pohatcong Township.
Phillipsburg-area residents are asked to shut their windows Tuesday night as a precaution when the Warren County Mosquito Commission rolls through.
Marked trucks with yellow flashing lights will be spraying mosquito treatment in Phillipsburg and parts of Alpha and Pohatcong Township between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Wednesday, weather-permitting, the commission says. A phone alert went out Monday evening.
The treatment products have low toxicity, but the commission is urging precautions to minimize exposure:
- Residents should remain indoors.
- Windows should be closed during the application time.
- Bring pets indoors when possible and cover pet dishes.
The commission also listed the areas it plans to treat (though trucks may not go down every road or alley).
