Big plays sent Phillipsburg to its second consecutive Mid-State 38 Delaware Division loss Friday night as Hillsborough sent the visiting Stateliners home with a 27-13 defeat.
Two blocked punts and two big runs accounted for all of the Raider (3-1, 1-1 division) points. Phillipsburg (2-2, 2-2) battled back from a 13-3 halftime deficit to make it a game in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t overcome its own self-inflicted wounds.
“The effort is there; we are just not executing,” Phillipsburg head coach Frank Duffy said. “We’re going to coach them up this week. We had a good week of practice this week, but we have to execute better.”
Phillipsburg managed just 86 yards rushing on carries, led by Garrett Boures’ 48 yards on 15 trips.
