The memory of Samantha Pesaresi is going strong.
The Sprint for Sam 5K -- a race that started just weeks after the 23-year-old from Alpha died in 2013 -- is returning Saturday to raise money to help transplant patients and to fund a Phillipsburg High School scholarship.

Pesaresi, a 2008 graduate of Phillipsburg High School and a 2012 graduate of Albright College, died unexpectedly after suffering a brain aneurysm while driving.
The first Sprint for Sam was run less than two months later, raising at least $4,000 for the Philadelphia-based Gift of Life Family House, which provides patients awaiting organ transplants a place to stay.
Pesaresi was a three-year starter on Albright's field hockey team, an assistant field hockey coach at Woodglen Middle School in Lebanon Township and planned on attending Drexel University's graduate program to study library sciences.
Her family donated her organs, saying her heart, lungs and liver saved three lives.
The group Sam's Spirit also held its third annual golf tournament in August and has done a field hockey clinic.

Route: Starting and ending at the municipal building, runners head west on Municipal Drive, north on Route 519, left on Snyders Road, left on Winters Road, left on Creek Road, north on Route 519 and right on Municipal Drive.
