Two people were hurt just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash on Freemansburg Avenue near Farmersville Road in Bethlehem Township, police say.

A 48-year-old woman from Phillipsburg was driving west on Freemansburg when she failed to notice stopped traffic in front of her and slammed into the rear of a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Bethlehem Township woman, police Chief Dan Pancoast said.

The 42-year-old's vehicle then hit the vehicle of a 75-year-old Bethlehem Township man who had stopped to turn left into his driveway, Pancoast said.

The 42-year-old woman complained of leg, neck and back pain and a 3-year-old in the Phillipsburg woman's vehicle suffered a forehead injury, Pancoast said. They were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in the township, he added.

The first two vehicles had major damage and had to be towed, Pancoast said. The 75-year-old's vehicle could be driven, Pancoast added.

The 48-year-old was cited with careless driving, Pancoast said.
