A year in the making, a new Warren County corn maze is designed to honor prisoners of war, those missing in action and veterans at large.
Visitors can trek the 3.8-mile maze shaped like a POW/MIA flag starting next weekend at The Farm in Harmony.
The Harmony Township farm plans to have a military-themed maze every year.
Farm co-owner Giulia Grotenhuis credited her late husband, Fred, as inspiration for the maze, according to a news release. Fred Grotenhuis was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service. He died in 2015.
The path was created by Maze Play, a company based in Firth, Idaho.
Inside the full maze, a one-third-mile trail for children has history stations on the Revolutionary War and a punch card -- for each card returned, the farm will donate one dollar to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the release says.
