Police are still looking for the target of their investigation.
Easton police recovered $9,000 in bulk heroin, $7,000 in cocaine, $900 in packaged heroin and $19,500 in cash after serving a search warrant Thursday morning in a West Ward apartment.
Shawqi Gray, 35, who had been selling heroin out of a rear second-floor apartment at 1031 Butler St., wasn't home when the police Special Response and Vice units served the warrant at dawn, Lt. Matthew Gerould said.
It is believed Gray is in Plainfield, New Jersey, Gerould said. The suspect was "bouncing" around Easton and New Jersey addresses, Gerould said. Gray also has ties to Philipsburg, Gray said.
An arrest warrant will be requested Thursday charging Gray with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Gerould said.
Even without an arrest, Gerould said the goal was to shut down the house and "get his stash."
Sharon Gray, 52, who rents the apartment, will be charged by summons with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Gerould said. Sharon Gray is Shawqi Gray's mother, Gerould said.
Sharon Gray will continue to watch the children who were in the apartment -- a 14-year-old boy and a young girl whose age she couldn't tell police, Gerould said.
The charges are the result of a month-long investigation into heroin sales in that part of the West Ward, Gerould said.
