A 47-year-old Phillipsburg man is in jail after allegedly assaulting two children sexually.

(Courtesy photo) Herman Quintana, of the 700 block of South Main Street, committed both assaults this year, one in January and the other around the time of his arrest Sept. 16, according to charges filed in state Superior Court in Belvidere.
One victim was 10 years old, and the other 7, according to the charges. Quintana and the victims knew each other, the documents indicate.
The first set of charges was filed upon his arrest, and identical charges were levied Wednesday. In all, Quintana is charged with two counts each of sexual assault and debauching the morals of a child. He faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release Thursday.
He was sent to the Warren County jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. Quintana is to have no contact with the victims or their families.
Phillipsburg police assisted in the investigation, the prosecutor's office said.
