Phillipsburg saw its home opener spoiled Friday night as Bridgewater-Raritan posted a 30-7 Mid-State 38 Delaware Division win in front of a very big crowd at Bellis Field at Maloney Stadium.
The Stateliners (2-1 overall and division) were only outgained 221 yards to 195 by the Panthers (3-0, 3-0) but a fumble return for a touchdown by Bridgewater’s Justin Bryant on the game’s third play set the tone for a frustrating evening for Phillipsburg.
Bridgewater defeated the Stateliners for the second year in succession, having won 31-28 in 2015.
