All you need to know.

A generally terrific weekend for local wrestlers at the Beast of the East wrapped up Sunday afternoon with championships for Bethlehem Catholic’s Mikey Labriola (170 pounds) and Northampton’s Julian Chlebove (126), 14 medals for area athletes and some impressive hardware.

Labriola won the Outstanding Wrestler award while Nazareth freshman Andrew Cerniglia won the Beast award for most pins in the tournament with six.

Area wrestlers reached four finals. Nazareth senior Travis Stefanik did not get a chance to wrestle for first as an injury ruled him out of the 182-pound final where he’d have faced a rematch of last week’s Ironman final against Malvern Prep’s Michael Beard.

At 120 pounds, Becahi sophomore Ryan Anderson made his second consecutive final (Ironman as well) but fell 3-0 to Delbarton’s Pat Glory, who is ranked #3 in the nation by Intermat; Anderson,w who defeated #4 ranked Matt Parker of Pennridge 4-0 in the semifinal, is #13 (for now).

“I am just pleased to place in tournaments like this,” Anderson said. “I didn’t expect to be in the final at all. Wrestling Glory showed me I needed to get some new moves; he knew what was coming.”
