Kevin P. Flanagan, 49, of Phillipsburg, has been indicted by a grand jury on two counts of aggravated assault after he fought with two people in the emergency room of Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.
FLEMINGTON - Kevin P. Flanagan, 49, of Phillipsburg, has been indicted on two counts of aggravated assault after he fought with two people in the emergency room of Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, announced on Monday.
He was indicted on the two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault by a Hunterdon County grand jury on March 9.
Flanagan was out of control while in the emergency room at 6:27 a.m. on Feb. 14, it was previously reported. He had used a pen to attempt to stab a nurse who was treating him and kicked another staff member in the stomach when they tried to intervene, it was reported.

When police arrived, Raritan Township Police Officer Eli Walters found Flanagan under control, but agitated and confrontational.
"Emergency Service workers are an essential part of our society and need to be protected from any individual who would attempt to harm them as they perform vital services to our community," Kearns said.
